I have been an artist for 35 years. I have always had a creative spirit. I was born in Leavenworth, Washington and raised 2 beautiful daughters there. I also spent most of my adult life there. Thus, my love for nature and beauty was developed. I have worked with many different mediums. I am a self- taught oil painter at heart. After my daughters moved away from home, I attended Wenatchee Valley College to study art for 2 years. Mostly to learn new techniques and be able to have an intellectual conversation about art. The actual doing of art always won. My inspirations come from many different directions. I am attracted to color and unique forms. Images where I can find something new each time I look at them.
Mountains, water, flowers, and people.
And of course, anything Christmas.
My goal is to create art that makes people feel joy.
“Every time you feel Joy a part of your heart is healed”. Having been a clown for many years, I have a deep understanding of the importance of Joy. My clown name is actually “Tulip”.
And last but certainly not least, my 20 years as Director of Village Art in the Park in Leavenworth was one of the most valuable experiences of my life for reasons too many to list.
My plans for the future have yet to be determined. The goal is to continue painting and enjoying my life. To continue growing and learning.
Hopefully, spending as much time as possible with the people I love.
Thank you,
Mary Warden
